On 19th of September, 2019, in Cluj-Napoca (Romania) PANACEA outcomes and results were disseminated during the Transylvanian International Clusters Conference (https://transylvanianclusters.ro), there was organized the Panel “Industry 4.0 in Agriculture: Track Growing Data”, moderated by AgroTransilvania Cluster which was dedicated to challenges and opportunities in the process of digitizing the agri-food sector and benefited by the experiences of participants from Romania, France, Spain, Italy, The Netherlands, Poland and not only.
During this event, there were, also, presentations of companies that have identified their opportunities, needs and expectations, as well as moderated open discussions in order to identify possible joint projects for value chain of non-food crops (NFC) are those that do not enter the food chains and are used to produce a wide range of bio-based products including polymers, lubricants, construction materials, pharmaceuticals, as well as bioenergy and fuels.
As main result of the panel, it was observed that the non-food crops sector is open for adopting ITC solutions. But they need solutions dedicated to their specificities of the farm / company, as there are many solutions available, from diverse providers, fact that confuse the possible beneficiary from agri-food business sector.
As final conclusion, it was observed that there is plenty of room for additional steps on the process of adjustment between supply and technological demand for the NFC sector.
