Training event for students under the frame of PANACEA project (www.panacea-h2020.eu )
PROMISING NON-FOOD INDUSTRIAL CROPS FOR THE GREEK AGRICULTURE took place online on 11th &18th November 2020
Since due to covid we could not accomplish the field visit of the third day, a debate was organized between the participants. They were divided into two groups A and B and they had to work and prepare a presentation for the second training day on the subject: USE OF PLANT BIOMASS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF BIOENERGY AND BIOPRODUCTS. Group A had to present the advantages and group B the disadvantages. A thorough discussion followed between the students and they had the opportunity to present their point of view.
“I attended the training both days and I have only positive comments, nothing negative… and don’t change anything, everything was perfect and we really thank you very much!!”
“All speakers including you as well, were persons with a quite interesting scientific background, you have informed us for things that me personally was not aware of their existence. And you succeeded indeed to show us what is happening in the world, outside of the routine that we are facing now (we are following all our classes online). We would like to thank you so much for the opportunity you gave us.”
“I attended the training of using plant biomass for the production of energy and bioproducts. I would like to inform you that it was very pleasant, interesting and I have no complains to do.”
“Initially I would like to thank you for the opportunity that you gave us to attend this training on the industrial crops and to get contact with these 3 entities, to learn about their work and potentials. What attracted me the most was the communication with STARAMAKI as we were presented with an innovation of holistic approach, bringing us in contact with a perspective so important and necessary nowadays, but at the same time somewhat lacking in our university-at least in the department of NRM&AE. It was a very nice and constructive initiative and I am glad that I managed to learn about it and to enrich my knowledge, as it is a field for which I most likely will not be informed in my department”
“Regarding the agenda I would like to say that I found all speeches extremely interesting and especially the last one about STARAMAKI, because it has completely informed us about the reality of a company that respects both the environment and the support of the local community”
“Personally, I really liked the fact that you had chosen as speakers persons that are specialized in alternative sectors of plant biomass exploitation, as you said chosen outside the university, and we were given the opportunity to get a complete picture of the industrial crops and their utilization. I can say with confidence that with the speech and the presentation of Ms. Alexopoulou I gained a lot of information about my dissertation, knowing better the research programs that are currently running and the crops that have been selected. For me, I distinguished Stefanos with his “green” business idea, very promising, about which I would like to know more. I hope that in the future a similar seminar will be held with new speakers”
