PANACEA project claims to promote the development of the Bioeconomy based on the most developed non-food crops in Europe.
PANACEA has considered since its conception the importance of gathering the actors together and organizing with them face-to-face events where the actors could increase their knowledge and work together to promote each of the value chains identified as most promising. In this way, in Spain, Cooperativas Agroalimentarias and INTIA have organized events for farmers and technicians.
Therefore it is time to propose an international event, which provides new perspectives to Spanish actors, both in the current knowledge available (state of the art in production and transformation) and in the strategies that other European partners are already applying.
The goal is to contribute to the development of the Bioeconomy in Spain, based mainly on three value chains: oil, lignocellulosic and fibre and specialty crops.
Each group of crops described above will have a thematic session (1 hour of duration). We will have the opportunity to know about new innovative projects that are being developed in several countries of Europe. Moreover, there will be two plenary sessions in order to address horizontal issues such as related policies, innovation programs, the general framework of the Bioeconomy, etc.
Several international guests will contribute with their innovative knowledge in each of the three value chains. In addition, the event will feature a workshop with parallel sessions in which participants can contribute with their experience to respond to the challenges that each of the three value chains currently possesses.
The expected results of this event will be (i) the identification of three interest groups, one for each of the value chains, (ii) new collaborative projects.
The groups to whom the event is focused are: Agrifood cooperatives, agricultural unions and research and transfer centers of the Autonomous Communities, industry, Universities, technology centers, R&D companies, policy makers.
