Non-food crops for the European bioeconomy will benefit from cross sectoral policy that addresses challenges in each value chain stage, fosters resource efficiency and leverages specific strengths for agriculture and industry within European regions.

Non-food crop value chains are essential for the European bioeconomy however their integration to local agricultural systems is still low. Identifying their competitive priorities will enable the development of optimisation strategies and foster sustainability and resource efficiency. Apendix.
